Purification and Characterization of Phosphofructokinase from Rhodotorui~ Glutinis
نویسنده
چکیده
Abstract: Fhosphofructokinase has been identified and purified from extracts of Rhodotorula glutinlus. Kinetic studies of the enzyme indicated high eooperativity with respect to fructose 6-phosphate. The kinetics for ATP shows no cooperativity as indicated by the hyperbolic behavior of the enzyme. The enzyme is inhibited by ADF. Citrate and phosphate have no effect on the enzyme activity. The role of ATP, fructose 6-phosphate, and ADP is discussed.

Purification and Characterization of the Pigments from Rhodotorula glutinis DFR-PDY Isolated from Natural Source
Carotenoids from some of the coloured yeasts like Rhodotorula, Phaffia rhodozyma have attracted commercial interest as a natural pigment for foods. Red yeast isolated from the contaminated PDA plate yeast has been found to produce carotenoids. This red was characterized and designated as Rhodotorula glutinis DFR-PDY. The isolated crude pigment from the red yeast Rhodotorula glutinis DFR-PDY was...
متن کاملPurification and Characterization of a Novel Thermostable and Acid Stable α-Amylase from Bacillus Sp. Iranian S1
This study reports the purification and biochemical characterization of thermostable and acidic-pH-stable α-amylase from Bacillus sp. Iranian S1 isolated from the desert soil (Gandom-e-Beryan in Lut desert, Iran). Amylase production was found to be growth associated. Maximum enzyme production was in exponential phase with activity 2.93 U ml-1 at 50°C and pH 5. The enzyme was purified by isoprop...
متن کاملZn2+-dependent reversible inactivation of rat liver phosphofructokinase-1. Purification of the inactivating protein and characterization of the inactivation reaction.
A protein has been purified from rat liver (about 5 mg from 100 g) which inactivates rat liver phosphofructokinase-1. According to dodecyl sulfate gel electrophoresis the protein consists of a single peptide chain with a Mr of 19,000. The inactivation of phosphofructokinase-1 by this protein results from a dissociation of phosphofructokinase-1 into its inactive protomers (Mr = 82,000). The inac...
متن کاملPurification and Partial Characterization of a Thrombin-Like Enzyme (AH144) from Venom of Iranian Snake Agkistrodon Halys
The snake venom´s thrombin-like enzymes comprise a number of serine proteases, which are functionally and structurally related to thrombin. Purification and partial characterization of a thrombin-like enzyme from the venom of the Iranian snake, Agkistrodon halys, was the aim of this study. Purification was carried out by a combination of variety of chromatographic methods that included: gel...
